On 31st October, 2011 Rabindranath Tagore’s dance- drama ‘Shyama’ and ‘Chandalika was staged in school by the students of class -  XI under the guidance of Mrs Shashi Mishra, the Hindi teacher and Mrs Rajni the dance teacher.

In ‘Chandalika’ Prokrithi an untouchable girl whois ill-treated by other villagers because of her low caste, discovers a new meaning of her life when a Buddhist monk asks her for water and tells her that she is also a human being created by God.

Shyama, a court dancer, is in love with a foreign merchant who is imprisoned and faces execution on false charges. Shyama’s immense love for the merchant binds her to accept an admirers offer to take the merchant’s place.

Socio – political malpractices prevalent in the society was an eye opener for the students. They highly appreciated the dance and the costumes worn by the participants. Our Principal Mrs.SangeetaSaxena applauded the students for their sincere efforts.

A VIRTUAL WORLD TOUR TO NEHRU WORLD SCHOOL

Seven students and two teachers from Chiranjiv Bharati School, Palam Vihar went on a virtual world tour to Nehru World School, Ghaziabad on Thursday, 20th October, 2011. It was an amazing experience.

Each class from nursery to twelfth was assigned a particular country. All the travellers were given a passport which was verified and stamped. A tourist guide was provided to each group. The escorts took immense care of the comforts of each guest. The passports were stamped before embarking on the site seeing of each country. Topography, cuisine, world heritage sites, national flag, emblem, the indigenous people, their attire, culture etc. was very comprehensively portrayed. They even had an interactive corner where students could play the most popular game of that particular country. A small memento of each country made by the students was also gifted as a token of remembrance.

The virtual tour to Singapore, Spain, U K, U S A, France, Morocco, China and several other countries was indeed an enriching experience for both, the staff and the students. We sincerely thank our Principal Mrs Sangeeta Saxena for having sent us to this exhibition.

Best regards

OTHELLO

OTHELLO

The students of X D very enthusiastically read, researched and wrote the script for the play Othello by Shakespeare.
It was indeed an excellent strategy to give them a free hand in choosing the role they wanted to play. After rehearsing for a week on their own they called me for refinement. It was an amazing experience for me. Each one of them performed so well that their creativity moved me to the core.
Today they performed in front of a large audience. Headmistress Senior Wing Mrs. Raka Kaul, Headmistress Middle Wing Mrs. Shailini Jerath, H O D English Mrs. Jyoti Sannoo, other subject teachers and the students highly appreciated their performance.

The participants were:
Rishabh Verma as Othello
Himadri Mishra as Desdemona
Ayushi Kharb as Emilia
Anurag Mishra as Roderigo
Anuska Sharma as Brabantio
Vinayak Ojha as Cassio
Yanit Chauhan as Iago
Saurabh Sethi as Officer
Bhumika Maikhuri as Narrator

It gives me immense pleasure to say that the students have taken a liking for Shakespeare’s Plays. They expressed an intense desire to read other tragedies by Shakespeare.
