Activity: Knowing diverse cultures of countries which qualified for the Quarterfinals of Cricket World Cup
The tots of Nursery and Pre-Nursery of Chiranjiv Bharati Pre-primary Wing  took part in an informal event organized for their parents. It related to four countries that participated in the Cricket World Cup 2011 namely Bangladesh, Srilanka, Pakistan and England. 
Around 122 children took part and the parents enjoyed watching their little ones perform . The event was an international activity meant to make the students aware of aspects of other countries. In this regard, a cricket tournament was also organized.

TERI VISIT

To Better And Conserve The Resources
A team from TERI comprising of Mr. Sunil Kumar, Ms. Anju Goel and Mr. Shailender Tripathi visited CBSPV on 19th July 2011. It was a recce survey. The team members interacted with the school management to gather information about the myriad aspects of the school. They envisioned about adding new dimensions to energy conservation, solar paneling, environment betterment issues, water harvesting .They also visited the swimming pool, ayur vatika, ETP plant, compost pit and paper recycling unit. They collected samples of water from the swimming pool, the RO system & toilets. The initiatives and ventures of CBSPV were highly appreciated.

Disaster Management

Disaster Management Session
On 13th July 2011, CBSPV welcomed Mr. S.K. Sharma, fire fighter who enlightened the students about the ways to tackle manmade disasters as well as natural calamities. The students were taught ways to mitigate the impact after the disaster.
He laid special emphasis on the various methods of fire fighting. The children were made to understand techniques to douse the fire on combustible materials by adding water, water solutions or the coating effect of certain dry chemicals. He stressed upon the fact that a small fire if treated timely can prevent a disaster. He provided a thorough demonstration about how fire extinguishers can be used effectively.
 Mr. Sharma demonstrated various techniques to provide comfort to victims. He made children aware about how to pick up boys and handmade stretchers could come in handy, stretchers could be devised using dupattas and belts, he said.
He also spoke about how evacuation routes could be chalked out during fires, earthquakes and road accidents. It was a very informative session and the children were empowered with techniques to learn about ways and methods to combat disasters.
It was attended by Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena and all staff members.

EWaste Management Drive at CBSPV

The week long ‘Van Mahotsav’ celebrations at CBSPV, a go green initiative, kickstarted with an Ewaste management awareness drive. The EWaste management awareness drive was conducted in collaboration with DELL & TERI in CBSPV on 4th July, 2011.
The day began with a special assembly. A model created by the students of the school was displayed in the school premises. A special function was organized in school to stress upon the importance of preserving the sanctity of the environment with Mr. Anshuman, Associate Director of the TERI as the chief Guest.
Mr. Anshuman reiterated the need to preserve and nurture the Ecology and Environment and also stressed upon the importance of recycling EWsate.
A skit to highlight the importance of recycling EWsate was also performed and a workshop on creating model out of Ewaste was conducted by Mr. Biplav.
Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena, Principal CBSPV and Ms. Raka Kaul, Head Mistress Senior graced the occasion with their presence.

CBS CELEBRATES VAN MAHOTSAV WEEK

GREEN WAVE AT CBSPV
Marking the arrival of tempestuous monsoon, the Science department under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena and Headmistress Mrs. Raka Kaul at CBSPV ushered in the week long ‘Van Mahotsav’ Celebrations on Monday, 4th July, 2011 with great zeal and enthusiasm.
A function was organized to initiate the celebrations with Mr. Anshuman of TERI as the chief guest. Mr. Anshuman along with the staff members and students enthusiastically planted numerous medicinal plants to promote the cause of a Clean and Green Gurgaon. He reiterated the need to plant trees and follow better water conservation practices. This was followed by a skit to highlight the importance of protecting the environment.
The function culminated in the CHIRANJIVIAN family taking a Pledge to Save Trees and Plant More and more of them. Wall Painting Competition & Poster Making Competitions were held during the week.
A Cycle Rally was carried out by the children of the Eco Club in Palam Vihar to spread awareness about the importance of planting trees. The children could appreciate and understand the need for afforestation.

SELECTION OF PLAYERS FOR UNDER - 19 AT CBS, PV

Chiranjiv Bharati School, Palam Vihar witnessed the trial of Under – 19 Cricket Team organized by the Cricket Association Of NCR.
110 players participated in the trial matches. 33 students from our school have been short listed to participate in the final trial from which the selection of the players will be done to represent the Haryana Cricket Association.
Our star performers are Mahesh Prasad, Bharat Dureja, Jai Yadav, Harsh Saharan, Punish Mehta, Vikrant Chopra, Manish Rana, Shiva Yadav, Abhishek Batra, Pranay Tiwari, Deepak Katariya, Mohan Daima, Jasbir Tehlan, Deepak Singh, Abhinav Ashu, Sudhir Yadav, Nitin verma, Ajay Yadav, Abhilakshya, Gaurav Dhankar, Tarkit Pawar, Rahul pahuja, Anmol Dutt, Gopal Sharma, Rohan Kataria, Vikas Saini, Deepak Yadav, Dharmendra Singh, Nitin Yadav, Abhijeet Saraswat, Amit Aggarwal, Raghav Sharma and Arvind Prasad.
The Secretary, O P Taneja said that all the selected players have to report at CBS Ground for practice. Tejender Singh Man, Sandeep Singh, Mansoor Ali and Various other dignitaries graced the occasion.
The Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena congratulated the players and wished them luck for the final match.
