Sanskrit Day Celebrated at CBSPV
Sanskrit Day was celebrated in CBSPV on 23rd August 2011. 2nd Chapter of the sacred Gita was read by Pooja Mishra of class X C . Ojal Saharan and Niharika Barak of class VIII put forth their views on making Sanskrit an easy language. ‘Padam Padam Pravdharte’ a Sanskrit song was also recited by the Sanskrit students.
School Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena congratulated the students for their efforts and blessed them.

CBS PV holds comparative analysis session of World Markets

On August 25th 2011 the commerce students of class XII had a discussion on comparative analysis of Shanghai and Gurgaon in terms of economic development. These two cities were selected because they are the two leading financial markets of the world and the discussion was held under the able guidance of Mrs. Preeti Sangwaan head of the commerce department.

Kriti of Class XII C highlighted the major milestones in the path of economic development in Shanghai. Arpita Chanana of XII C gave an insight about the journey of the millennium city Gurgaon from small agricultural town to a buzzing commercial hub However, it was pointed out that Shanghai had emerged as the more improved of the two because of the introduction of reforms that had taken place earlier in Shanghai as compared to Gurgaon. Overall it was an informative and enriching session and the students were highly interactive throughout the session .It was a goal oriented activity.

Inter House Hindi Recitation Competition

An Inter house Hindi recitation competition was held in CBS,PV (Junior wing) on 24.08.11. Five students of each house participated in the competition. The students recited the poems enthusiastically .The themes were -‘Ma’, ‘Veer ras’, ‘ Hasyay ras’. Poster Making Competition on 'Eye Donation'

A poster making competition was organized by the art department of CBSPV.The students drafted thought provoking posters on the topic ‘Eye Donation’. The students of classes VI-XII had participated in this competition and they were slotted into 3 categories for the purpose. School principal Mrs.Sangeeta Saxena landed the artistic and innovative flair of the young Chiranjeevians and congratulated each one of them. Indeed it was art for life’s sake.

CBSPV Hosts Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Inter School Debate
CBSPV hosted the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Inter School Debate on 19th August 2011 in the school premises. The topic for the debate was ‘The Government Is Non Committal About Corruption Free India. Each school was represented by two speakers and two interjectors and almost all the prestigious school of Gurgaon participated in this competition. Each school team had one speaker speaking for the motion and one against the motion. The speakers were given three minutes each to present their views. It was riveting debate and the participants spoke convincingly and confidently. It was indeed a great forum for the erstwhile debators to showcase their oratory with appropriate enthusiasm, wit and gusto. The school Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena appreciated the students for their excellent effort. The host school , CBSPV emerged as the overall champion. Arpita Sahoo of CBSPV was adjudged the best speaker and Nakul Yadav of DAV Public school sec-14 was adjudged the best interjector. DPS Maruti Kunj emerged as the runner up and DAV Sec-14 emerged as the second runner up. The event was managed and coordinated by the English Department of the School.

INDEPENDENCE DAY


CHIRANJIV BHARATI SCHOOL, PALAM VIHAR CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
The 65th  Independence Day was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervor on the 15th of August in the school premises. The grand celebration was spearheaded by the flag hoisting ceremony. Mr Vimal Yadav, Mayor of Gurgaon was the Chief guest and he majestically did the honors. He was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Gurgaon,  Mr. Parminder Kataria. The school Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena welcomed the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and the distinguished guests and wished everyone a happy Independence Day.
A melodious group song presented by the students of junior wing paved the way for the extravagant cultural bonanza that was to follow. The senior students regaled one and all with their fabulous dance performance. This was followed by a breathtaking Kathak Dance performance by the students of T.D.P (Talent Development Programme) which enthralled the audience.
The school also acknowledged the achievers and the geniuses not only in the field of academics but also in the field of co – curricular activities. The prize distribution ceremony made way for the felicitation of the stalwarts of CBS PV.
The school Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena explained the significance of Independence day and motivated the students to serve their motherland with vigour and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest Mr. Vimal Yadav appreciated the endeavour of the school in hosting such a grand function. He encouraged the students to uphold the sacrifices made by the martyrs and inculcate in them the right values to elevate their motherland to help her achieve perfection, glory and path breaking dignity. Mrs. Raka Kaul , senior Headmistress presented the vote of thanks and she also acknowledged  the contribution of the parents and the teachers in making the show a grand success.

REPORT ON INTER- HOUSE THAI CUISINE COMPETITION


An inter-house Thai Cuisine competition was conducted in Chiranjiv Bharati School, Palam Vihar Gurgaon on 12 August 2011 as a part of celebration of International day of Thailand to enable the students to appreciate and value the diversity of cultures and traditions.
In Thailand, 12th August is celebrated as the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. As the Queen is also regarded as mother to all Thai people, this day is also celebrated as Mother’s Day. On this day, white jasmine flowers are a common sight in Thailand as they are the symbol of maternal love. The white color of the flower symbolizes purity of mother’s true love, which will never change.
The students of each house prepared one main dish of Thai Cuisine. The recipe included traditional herbs and spices. The aroma of spices and flavours of Thai herbs filled the entire atmosphere creating a festive mood among the participants. The mouth watering dishes prepared by the students were served in traditional Thai style.
The dishes cooked were judged on the basis of authenticity of the taste & flavour, table layout and overall presentation.
One student from each house was dressed up in traditional Thai costume to give a Thai ambience to the entire event.

Social Science Exhibition

CBS Exhibition Mesmerises All
An exhibition depicting the journey and evolution of Gurgaon from Gurugram to the Millennium city was uneveiled at Chiranjiv Bharati School, Palam Vihar by the Director of School, Mrs Mahrukh Singh on 5th August,2011. The innovative and creative zest of the Chiranjivians was appreciated by the director Ma’am and the School Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Saxena .Parents also lauded the efforts of their wards. The aesthetic sense and the artistic flair of the children were showcased through mind blowing models, creative charts and informative  write ups. This exhibition was the brain child of the Social Science Department of the school and it presented the unfurling of Gurgaon in a truly novel way. While the heritage of Gurgaon was showcased through models recreating The Sheetla Mata Mandir,t raditional housing and the age old handicrafts bazaar, primary industries. The modern and contemporary ful of Gurgaon was highlighted through antefacts portraying Gurgaon metro, modern modes of transport loke Radio Tuk Tuk ,the IT hub the state of the art Educomp building and the replica of Gurgaon as a modern city with all its infrastructural facilities. A mock cooperative was also set up to enable the students to incorporate managerial skills. The Exhibition showcased amalgamation of historical insights, geographical inputs and principles of economics. The Cactus and Bonsai Exhibits adopted and created by the young Chiranjivians at the tastefully decorated AyurVatika also garnered a lot of praise and appreciation from one and all.
